Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the wearing of an electrode and display the effect an auxiliary anode, by placing a longitudinal direction of the electrode toward the direction of a lamp tube axis. CONSTITUTION:A lead wire 9 at the preheat side is extended to support a filament 10 in such a manner as to permit its longitudinal direction to be positioned on the extension of a power side lead wire 11, that is, in the direction of a tube axis. A lamp current in the filament 10, because the tube central side end (connection side with the lead wire 9 at the preheat side) of the filament 10 is near the oppositely facing filament during the time of lighting, is routed and susceptible of flowing through said side end. This causes the current to flow in full length of the filament 10, resulting in the uniformly red heating throughout the overall length.
