Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a compact starting device with resistance to vibration, by using a thick ceramic-film resistance as a current-limiting resistance of a starting circuit. CONSTITUTION:A starting circuit and an emission tube 11, which is supported by pole braces 19, 19' and other supporting tools, are installed within an outer bulb 16. The starting circuit includes a thick ceramic-film resistance 15, which is connected in series with both a glow switch 14 and a bimetal switch 16, a series circuit being made. This series circuit is connected parallel to the emission tube 11. The emission tube 11 is equipped with an auxiliary electrode, which is connected to the joint of the bimetal switch 16 and the thick ceramic-film resistance 15 by means of a resistance 17.
