Thus constituted electric-discharge lamp is connected with a power source 19 through a stabilizer 18, and is impressed with a power source voltage. Then, the high voltage electric-discharge lamp 8 begins a discharge, and an electric current which is controlled by the stabilizer 18 flows. When the high voltage electric-discharge lamp 8 is once extinguished by a temporary drop of the power source voltage or the like, the low voltage electric-discharge lamp 13 lights, and an electric current which is controlled by the impedance element 17 flows.
