Abstract
PURPOSE:To suppress the occurrence of the defective product by burrying a tubular zig under softened glass state at the molded section at the joint end with the neck tube of a funnel then removing said zig and molding the neck tube inserting tubular section. CONSTITUTION:A glass plate 22 for constructing a funnel is mounted on the lower die 21 provided with a recess 20 having a tubular bottom face, and under thermally softened state a tubular zig 31 having a groove 30 is mounted. Thereafter it is dropped by the self-weight or other zig into the recess 20 in the lower die 21. Then the glass plate is formed into a tube between the recess 20 and the zig 21 thus to form a tubular neck tube inserting section 17 the inner circumferential face of which has the uniform curvature while other sections of the funnel 1b are also molded. Thereafter the temperature is risen to harden the funnel 1b. Consequently a neck tube inserting section having high circularity can be formed and the breakdown due to the expansion/contract of the glass member can be prevented by the groove.
