Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the concentration and the yield of O2 gas product by controlling the flow rate of air introduced into an adsorption tower, in a continuous oxygen- concentrating method wherein adsorption of N2 by introducing air into a plurality of adsorption towers, desorption of N2 by reducing a pressure, and equalization of pressure are sequentially repeated.
CONSTITUTION: When conducting N2 adsorption and N2 desorption respectively in adsorption towers 1 and 2, solenoid valves 8, 10, 15 are opened and solenoid valves 9, 11, 16W18 are closed. In this condition, air is fed into a throttle plate 6 through a compressor 4 to adjust its flow rate, then it is fed into the tower 1, where N2 is adsorbed and O2 is fed into a pressure-equalizing tank 13. Thereafter, O2 is taken out through a pipe 14. On the other hand, N2 adsorbed in the tower 2 in a previous step is discharged through the solenoid valve 15 and a pipe 19 while returning the pressure of N2 to the atmospheric pressure. After the desorption of N2 in the tower 2 is completed, the valve 17 is opened and valves 9, 11, 15 are closed, then O2 in a compressed state in the tank 13 is introduced into the tower 2 and the pressure is equalized. Thereafter, adsorption and desorption of N2 are conducted respectively in the towers 2 and 1, in which case the throttle plate 6 prevents a large amount of air from flowing instantaneously into the adsorption tower at the time of adsorption, and the purposes can be attained.
