Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure the viscosity in an intermediate viscosity region of glass effectively and precisely by applying constant load to a measuring probe in melt thereby displacing the same minutely and perpendicularly at an equal speed. CONSTITUTION:Balance beam pause mechanisms 10 and balance beam inclination limiting mechanisms 11 permitting arbitrary control of vertical movement in adjoining to these are provided right under a balance beam 2. The mechanisms 11 are formed of a pair of balance beam support members 12, 13 which are moved in and out by turning operations, so that the degrees of inclination of the beam 2 are limited.
