Abstract

PURPOSE: To suppress the outflow of impurities on the top surface of molten metal and improve quality by providing a valve opening and closing the runner communicating part above a lower sleeve in a method of packing the molten metal into cavities by the upward movement of a lower plunger.
CONSTITUTION: Molten metal M is teemed through a sprue 7 into a sleeve 6, and flows into a sleeve 4 above a plunger 13, where it is stored. The sprue 7 is closed and the boundary part is closed by moving a control valve 11 downward and when the plunger 13 is moved upward, the metal M ascends and impurities M3 contact a ceiling 5a, then part of a solidified film M2 contacts the inner side of the valve 11.
