Abstract
PURPOSE: To form a photoconductive layer having high elasticity and superior endurance and absorbing a mechanical impact by using thermoplastic phenoxy resin with a specified mol.wt. or more as a binder for photoconductive powder.
CONSTITUTION: A dispersion of a mixture of 100pts.wt. photoconductive powder and 0.5W60pts.wt. thermoplastic phenoxy resin with 15,000W100,000mol.wt. in a solvent such as methyl ethyl ketone is applied to an electrically conductive support and dried by heating to form photoconductive layer. The phenoxy resin is prepared by the reaction of bisphenol-A and epichlorohydrin. An insulating layer of polyester, epoxy resin or the like is formed on the photoconductive layer. Thus, a receptor having high charge retentivity and almost independent of temp. and humidity is obtd. The photoconductive layer is not peeled from the support and cracked, resulting in enhanced endurance.
