Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a photoconductive material of high photosensitivity formed by dispersing fine selenium particles in the trigonal system into a binder layer, by coating and drying a solution containing an inorganic selenium compound, hydrazide, and a binder polymer on a conductive substrate, and heating this.
CONSTITUTION: Hydrazide represented by the formula shown in which R is 1W8C alkyl, phenyl, or phenyl substituted by 1W5C alkyl, hydroxy, 1W5C alkoxy, amino, or the like, such as acetohydrazide or o-methylbenzhydrazide is used. An organic solvent solution of an inorganic selemium compound releasing free selenium on reduction, such as selenium dioxide or selenious acid, said hydrazide, and an electrically insulating binder polymer, such as polyvinylbutyral or diacetly cellulose are coated on a substrate and dried, and then heated at 80W200°C for 1W60min.
