Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an original printing plate high in sensitivity and capable of recording by electrophotography using laser beams in the visible and infrared region, by forming on a conductive substrate a photosensitive layer containing an electron donative compound, such as oxazole derivative, a phthalocyanine derivative pigment, and a phenolic resin.
CONSTITUTION: An electron donor derived from oxazole, oxadiazole, etc., such as a compound of formula I, II, or III is added to an organic solvent containing a phthalocyanine pigment and a phenolic resin in an amount of 0.01W100, preferably, 0.01W10mol per mole of the phthalocyanine pigment to give a uniformly dispersed coating fluid. This fluid is coated and dried on a conductive substrate of aluminum or the like to form a photosensitive layer, permitting this photoreceptor to be recorded by exposure to laser beams of a fluorescent lamp, an argon lamp, or the like, and developed easily in an alkaline aqueous solution, and to have superior charge retentivity and humidity resistance, and suitability for an original printing plate.
