CONSTITUTION:A hydrazone compound represented by the formula [where R1 is (substituted) alkyl, the substituent is OH, Cl or the like, Ar is a (substituted) heterocyclic aromatic ring, and the substituent is alkyl, CH2CH2Cl or the like] is used as a charge transferring substance. A charge carrier generating substance 3 such as Se, CdS or other inorg. or org. pigment is dispersed in a coating sonl. prepared by dissolving the hydrazone compound and a binder, and the resulting dispersion is applied to an electrically conductive support 1 and dried to form a photosensitive layer 2.
