Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the iron core having preferable magnetic properties of flange type having a flanged head at one end and a boss at the other end by conducting a cold drawing, an annealing and a finish drawing for a softer steel strand wire specified for its carbon content and other impurity contents when the flanged electromagnetic iron core is manufactured.
CONSTITUTION: When the flanged electromagnetic iron core having a flanged head at one end and a boss at the other end is manufactured, the softer steel strand wire containing approx. 0.01wt% or less of carbon content and 0.31wt% or less of other impurity contents is used as a material to be employed. That is, the stand wire 1' drawn and annealed is cut in a desired length, the cut wire is inserted into a die 22, a punch 23 is brought into contact with the end projected therefrom, the flanged head 3 is first formed, the head 3 is then grasped by the punch 23, is removed from the die 22, is then inserted into other die 22', and is urged.
