Abstract
PURPOSE: To permit a synchronous generator to be easily operated parallel running, by controlling a rotational speed of a runner with the actuation of a deflector at the point end of a nozzle when the runner is started.
CONSTITUTION: At the point for a runner 1 to increase its rotational speed to a level slightly higher than its rated speed, when a deflector 5 is actuated counterclockwise in the closing direction, jetted water from a nozzle 3 is partially commutated its flow becoming a state not to hit buckets 2. In this way, the rotational speed of the runner is lowered into a steady state of running at its rated speed, thus capable of performing an easy operation of parallel running of a synchronous generator without causing a vibration or large amount of stress.
