CONSTITUTION:The bottom of a river is covered with concrete in a proper section to be provided with a water intake 1. Therefrom, an open raceway 2 is constructed to a spot where a required head H can be obtained, and on its way, a gravel-removing pit 4' and a screen mechanism 4'' in the downstream are provided. The raceway 2 is gradually narrowed in its width, and connected to a concentrated stream dropping part 5, which is connected to a flow down tube 6. At the lower end of this flow down tube 6, an axial-flow turbine 10 is installed for rotating a generator 20. The generator can be replaced by another energy- generating machine.
