Abstract
PURPOSE:To economically produce an alloy sheet of a uniform size with less damages of a composite nozzle having a slit part including a predetermined ratio of silicon nitride owing to high-velocity molten metal flow by allowing the molten metal alloy from said nozzle to bring into contact with the surface of a rotary cooling body which is making high-speed motion. CONSTITUTION:A slit is punched by ultrasonic working to a nozzle slit part block 2 consisting of a sintered molding of a material contg. >=50wt% silicon nitride. Thence, this block 2 is built into the hole part punched with a taper in the bottom of a nozzle body 1 of alumina base and is heated and bonded by using an alumina base heat-resistant adhesive agent. Next, molten alloy of Fe30P13C7 or the like is flowed out from this composite nozzle onto the surface of a cooling body which is rotating at high speeds, whereby the molten alloy is quickly cooled and frozen and an alloy sheet is continuously produced. This composite nozzle withstands long-term continuous use and the distribution of the gage, surface roughness and width of the resulted broad-width and long-sized alloy sheet is extremely uniform; in addition, the controlling of sheet shape is easy.
