Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable sharp images to be obtained by hermetically closing the spacing with a control electrode plate having a small hole controlling the passage of the ions generated by a corona generator by means of an insulation frame body, feeding air into this hermetic space and flowing the air out from the samll hole.
CONSTITUTION: A corona generator 22 consists of a metal cylinder 24 having an opening part 22a made by notching a part of a cylindrical shape in its axial direction, and a corona wire 23 disposed axially in roughly the central part of this cylinder 24. The end face in the axial direction of the metal cylinder 24 is held closed, and a through-hole 24b communicating with the inside of the cylinder 24 is pierced in part of the circumferential surface. A tubular body 25 is joined and fixed to the through-hole 24b. Air is supplied to this tubular body 25, and the air is exhausted only through the samll hole 34. The air current contg. ions arrives at recording paper 7 and the recording of electrostatic latent images are obtained on the recording paper 7 at a high recording speed, with high densities and sharpness.
