Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a received wave beam of a substantially narrow width and improve azimuthal resolution by taking out output only when the received output of plural received wave beams are obtained at the same time. CONSTITUTION:When a transmitter 1 is operated, acoustic waves are transmitted from a probe 3 and buffer amplifiers 5 and 6 produce the output signals of the first and second channels by composing received waves in the beams. If the product of the output signals of the first and second channels is formed and amplified by a multiplying amplifer 7, the received wave beams of the first and second channels are formed on an overlapped part, which results in receiving a narrow beam, so that azimuthal resolusion is improved.
