Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the accuracy of a knocking sensor, by providing a magnet to the magnetic yoke having an aperture part at one end, putting a part of the cantilever oscillator composed of the magnetic material at the aperture part and then winding the coil round the oscillator.
CONSTITUTION: The permanent magnets 4 and 5 are fixed by adhesion to the magnetic yokes 1 and 2 having an aperture part each at one end, and a part of the cantilever oscillator 3 composed of the magnetic material is put at the aperture part. Then the coil 6 is wound round the oscillator 3. Now if the up-down vibration is applied to the knocking sensor, the oscillator 3 starts its vibration. As a result, the oscillator 3 shifts out of the center of the gap between the magnets 4 and 5, and thus a change of magnetic flux is produced in proportion to the oscillation frequency. Accordingly, the output voltage is caused at the both terminals 8 of the coil 6. Then the resonance frequency f0 is set at the frequency that is a feature of the knocking phenomenon. Thus the accuracy can be increased for the knocking sensor.
