Abstract

PURPOSE: Rice is packed in tightly sealed pouches, put in molding vessels, transferred in a heater and the vessels are made to revolve, thus massproducing storable boiled rice without retort sterilization.
CONSTITUTION: Washed rice is tightly sealed in heat-resistant pouches together with water and air and the pouches are tightly sealed in molding vessels respectively. The molding vessels are held to holder 11 on the conveyor 18 with the aid of pushers and the inside of the vessels are pressurized. The holder 11 is equipped with supporting shafts on both ends to make the vessels revolve with the revolution device fitted on the way of the conveyor 18, thus enabling uniform heating. Pouches are sent by the conveyor from inlet 33 into hot water tank 21 in the heating system 19, made to revolve, boiled and taken out of outlet 32. The molding vessel is demounted from the holder 11 and the pouch is taken out of the vessel.
