Abstract
PURPOSE: Pouches filled with washed rice, appropriate amounts of water and a gas are heat treated under pressure to produce readily eatable boiled rice with soft and full texture and delicious taste.
CONSTITUTION: A package 5 containing a pouch 4 filled with washed rice 1, appropriate amounts of water 2 and air 3 is included in a molding vessel 6 and tightly sealed. The vessels are set to holders 11 and put from feeding platform 33 onto attachment 27 fitted to chains 25 on both sides of conveyor 18 and the holders 11 are shifted along with the chains 25 into hot water tank 21 in te heating system 19. Holders 11 are intermittently made to revolve with revolving means 31 and the rice in the vessel 1 is stirred. The vessels pass through the heating system 19 by a prescribed time to complete the rice boiling and come out of the hot water tank 21 to the outlet platform 32 where the vessels are detouched.
