Abstract
PURPOSE: To cover the inner and outside surfaces of a metal tube simultaneously while holding the tube horizontally and stably, by covering the inner surface with a powdery resin fed together with a gas the outside surface with a fluid bed respectively.
CONSTITUTION: The large-diameter metal tube 4 is heated in the heating furnace 5 with the conveyor 6 to a desired temperature, and rolled on the slant guide plate 7, then placed on the receiver 9 in the fluidized tank 8. The preheated tube 4 is held rotatably by the rotating supports from both sides, and the receiver 9 is lowered a little to remove the tube 4. A powdery resin is fed together with a gas into the rotating tube 4 via the support paths to form a film on the inner surface. A gas is fed into the bottom 10 of the fluidized bed to keep the resin in a fluid state, which forms a film on the outer surface of the tube 4.
