Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the mutual bonding and warping of compacted parts by a method in which compacted parts are stacked up with the interposition of a spacer of a specific thickness and a specific water absorptiveness, made of a cellulosic fibrous paper or cloth, between compacted powder molding parts in a boat.
CONSTITUTION: In the manufacture of sintered parts in which metal powders are put in a mold and molded by compression, the compacted parts are packed in a boat, and then the boat is sent to a sintering furnace, while a spacer made of a cellulosic fibrous paper or cloth having a thickness of 0.05W0.5mm and a water absorptiveness of 50% or more is interposed between the compacted parts and then the compacted parts are stacked up in the boat. The cellulosic fibrous spacer of high water absorptiveness is carbonized into small pieces when sintered and then dispersed uniformly over the surfaces of the parts, preventing the direct contacts between the compacted parts with each other.
