Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture hard sintered alloy having no pore, by sintering a press. formed powder of a mixed powder of a binder metal and a hard alloy in a vacuum to evacuate the pores present in the sintered body, then successively by hot static- press. sintering the sintered material at a low press.
CONSTITUTION: Hard WC powder with addn. of 6% Co powder as a binder is mixed and pulverized in a wet ball mill. The mixt, is put into a metallic mold and is press. formed, it is then sintered at a temp. of 1360°C in a vacuum. Thereafter, the sintered material is hot static press. sintered using Ar gas at a temp. of 1380°C and at a gas press. of 20W600kg/cm2 for 5W60min. Hereby a hard, very dense sintered alloy having little pores therein is manufactured.
