Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible always accurate measurement of solution concentrations irrespective of the fluctuations in the thickness of a flowing liquid layer by causing the detection positions of ray transmittance and electrostatic capacity to coincide perfectly thereby preventing the occurrence of measurement errors occuring in the difference in the detection positions.
CONSTITUTION: Transparent electrodes 6', 6' for detecting electrostatic capacity are so disposed as to shut off the ray transmittance detector by a light source 4 and a photosensor 5. Hence, the ray transmittance and electrostatic capacity of a flowing liquid layer 3 are detected in the same position. In this case, the materials for the electrodes for detecting electrostatic capacity are required to have high transmittance of rays, do not hamper and measurement of ray transmittance and have conductivity at least on the surfaces opposing to the flowing liquid layer. With such constitution, the obtained soln. concn. values have no fluctuations despite minor fluctuations in the flow of the flowing-down soln. and always correct values are obtainable.
