Abstract

PURPOSE: To readily make in-process measurement of various variation components of shaft by receivng the spot light whose optical axis is a reference axis with the quadrisected photo cells turning together with a revolving shaft and determining the revolving shaft movement condition based on the rotating angles of the revolving shaft.
CONSTITUTION: Spot light S such as collimated laser or the like in which center 0 is on a reference line and optical axis aligns to the reference line is received in the quadrisected light receiving faces P1 thru P4 of the photo cell P turning together with a revolving shaft with its center O' being in alignment to the center of the revolving shaft. If the detection outputs V1 thru V4 based on the formulas I thru IV of the faces P1 thru P4 proportional to the quantity of recieved light are operated with incorporation of the rotating angles ωt detected by the rotating angle detector provided to the revolving shaft, then the variation components of the revolving shaft expressed by polar coodinates Vr(t), α(t) based on the formula V may be readily meansured in process
