Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure an absolute rotational angle with high accuracy by irradiating a laser beam to a hologram cell in which absolute address is coded and recorded. CONSTITUTION:A hologram disc 10 is attached to a rotating body of a hologram cell 14 on the disc 10 from a laser beam source 9, and the laser beam is diffracted on the face of the hologram. The diffracted beam is detected by a plurality of light detectors 11 and led to a detection circuit. The circuit 12 codifies and outputs the absolue rotational position.
