PURPOSE:To enable elimination of interference components, by measuring the measured light and reference light in a photo detector by passing part of the light through measuring cell, temperature compensation cell and filter and the other part of light through interference cell, interference compensation cell and filter. CONSTITUTION:When a sector 9 is at the side of interference cell 8, the light leaving an infrared ray source 1 runs in the route of concave mirror 8, temperature compensation cell 7, measuring cell 2, concave mirror 12, filter 5 and photo detector 11, so that the quantity of light reached Lm is detected. When the sector 9 rotates 180 degrees, the infrared ray runs in the route of mirror 8, aperture 13, interference cell, interference compensation cell 4, mirror 12, filter 6 and detector 11, so that the quantity of light reached Lr is detected. From the difference in the quantity of light reached of detector 10, DELTAL=Lm-Lr, the length of cell 7 and the concentration of sealed gas are adjusted. By adjusting the aperture 13, the term of temperature compensation is made to zero or constant. By passing gas containing interference component but not containing measurement component, the length l of the cell 4 is adjusted and the interference component is eliminated. Hence, the measurement component concentration Lx may be obtained accurately regardless of fluctuations of interference component concentration.
