Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain an appropriate phase with sureness and at a low cost, by connecting rectifyer in parallel to a part of a discharge resistor connected to a field winding through a switch which is closed when starting and opened when operating. CONSTITUTION:A field winding 1 of a synchronous motor is led to a stationary section through a slip ring which is not shown in the sketck, a discharge resistor 3 is connected through the first switch 2 which is closed when starting and opened when operating, and an exciting power source 6 equipped with field resistor 5 is connected through the second switch 4 which is opened when starting and closed when operating. A rectifying 7 is connected in parallel with the discharge resistor 3, and when starting, shortcircuit current is made to pass in the same direction as that of exciting current of the field winding passing at the time when operating. The AC current passing at the time of starting of the field winding passes more in the direction of the exciting current passing at the time of operation, and as it undergoes DC excitation by voltage generating from its own field winding, it becomes able to automatically obtain a suitable phase to rotary field polarity of a stator.
