Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent transmission from being disabled even one transmission line is broken, by connecting respective input-output devices together in a loop via two transmission lines. CONSTITUTION:Light signal input-output devices 1a, 1b- are connected together in a loop by optical fibers 2a, 2b- as the 1st transmission line and optical fibers 5a, 5b- as the 2nd transmission line to constitute the 1st and 2nd closed circuits. Respective light signal input-output devices 1a, 1b- include light receivers 9a, 9b- and light transmitters 8a, 8b-. At input and output sides of respective devices 1a, 1b-, light switches 6a, 6b- and 7a, 7b- are provided. Further, control circuits 11a, 11b- are provided corresponding to devices 1a, 1b-. Light receivers 9a, 9b-, when a transmitted signal is not received any more, supply a switching signal to a control circuit to alternate the transmission lines.
