Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it possible to improve fatigue strength of joint weld zones, by inserting wax materials into parts which are in the weld zone and which will not be melted by the welding before the welding is performed, and by performing a heat treatment on the welded part under vacuum condition after the welding is made when joint weldings are made with an electron beam.
CONSTITUTION: In a welding method, for example, for hollow shafts 1 and 1' with an electron beam, wax material 6 (foil of palladium wax, etc.,) is inserted into parts (a) and (b) of weld zone which will not be melted at the time of welding before the welding is performed, and weld zone 5 is welded with the electron beam and the welded zone is heat treated at 500W900°C temperature range. As the result of this, no notch is remained at beveling part 5 fatigue strength of joint weld zone 5 is improved.
