Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to improve toughness of welding heat affected parts of low alloy steel and to prevent that the part becomes brittle when it is used, by forming a padding welded part having complete martensite structure previously at the welding heat affected part of groove section, and then by performing a welding which fills up the groove section. CONSTITUTION:In welding methods for low alloy steel, especially for 2.25Cr-1Mo steel, welded part 2 is formed with a low heat input (<=15KJ/cm welding heat input amount) and a low preheating temperature (<=130 deg.C) at the surface section of beveling of welding material 1, so that the structure of heat affected part may become a martensite structure, and then joint welding 3 is performed to fill up beveling 2 with a relatively high preheating temperature as in the case of conventional methods. Thus a welding heat affected part which is excellent in toughness is obtained and an effect is achieved in prevention of brittleness of low alloy steel while it is used.
