Abstract
PURPOSE:To weld the butt parts efficiently and securely, by watertightly inserting one thin-wall tubular body into the other thin-wall tubular body, forming a groove of the flange part in the outer circumference of tubular body, and passing cooling water into the tubular body when welding. CONSTITUTION:One end of a thin-wall tubular body 8 is watertightly inserted into one end of another thin-wall tubular body 7, and flange parts 7a, 8a of the same outside diameter are formed in the specified positions on the outer circumference of the both thin-wall tubular bodies 7, 8 so that they may overlap each other closely. The overlap part of these flange parts 7a, 8a is used as a groove part 13, and TIG welding is performed by means of a welding torch. While welding, the tubular bodies 7, 8 are rotated at a specified speed, and cooling water is passed into the tubular bodies 7, 8. In this method, butt-welding with less welding strain may be performed promptly.
