Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the titled composition rich in diisobutylene from isobutylene- containing hydrocarbon mixture, in high yield, by using a catalyst comprising a silica-alumina-zinc oxide calcined product containing silica-alumina and zinc oxide at a specific ratio.
CONSTITUTION: An oligomer composition containing a large amount of diisobutylene is prepared from isobutylene-containing hydrocarbon mixture using a catalyst comprising a silica-alumina-zinc oxide calcined product containing 100pts.wt. of silica-alumina and 1W50pts.wt. (esp. 5W40pts.wt.) of zinc oxide. The catalyst can be obtained by adding an aqueous solution of zinc nitrate or zinc chloride to a silica- alumina gel (10W30mol% of alumina content), kneading the mixture at 80W120°C to evaporate the water, and calcining in air at 300W600°C. The hydrocarbon mixture used as the raw material is pref. spent-BB fraction. The catalyst is recovered by filtration, and reused.
USE: Synthetic raw material of high-octane gasoline, an alkylating agent, etc. A surface active agent.
