Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an even distribution of temperature and prolong the sevice life of the control circuit of a double-system cooling cycle for automobiles such as a long-travel bus by driving alternately the respective systems of cooling cycle when the temperature in the passenger compartment reaches a preset optimum temperature range. CONSTITUTION:Each of the systems of cooling cycle 4, 5 respectively connected to a cool air blowing duct arranged on either side of the ceiling of the vehicle comprises a compressor 7, condenser 8, liquid reservoir 9, expansion valve 10 and evaporator 11. The compressor 7 is driven by an engine through an electromagnetic clutch 13, 14 which is controlled by the control circuit corresponding to the output value from a compartment temperature sensing circuit 23. In this case, the control circuit comprises an optimum temperature detecting circuit 15, a timer circuit 40 to turn on and off at a certain interval and a change-over circuit 29 to operate based on the outputs from the circuits 15 and 40 when the temperature in the passenger compartment reaches the preset optimum temperature range.
