Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten the construction period at a site, by a method wherein the lower half part of a main condenser used with a turbine for a nuclear power station is fabricated at a factory and only the installation thereof and a fabricating work for an upper half part are done at a site.
CONSTITUTION: At a factory, 4 blocks, of which a lower main body 2 consists, and tube plates 6 are welded together, cooling water tubes 7 are inserted into the tube plates, and expanding seal-welding, welding of a water chamber 8, and an evacuating test of the lower main body 2 are conducted to form a lower half part 9. The lower half part 9 is transported to a site togetherwith blocks 3, which are component elements for an upper main body 1, a connection part 5 etc. After the lower half part 9 is installed in a regular position, the upper main body 1 is welded for assembling. As described above, the lower half part 9 is fabricated at the factory, said fabrication is transported to the site, and the upper half part is constructed at the site, whereby a construction period at the site can be shortened substantially.
