Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the workability, and to make preventable the deformation of the thin sheet, by interposing the heat insulator and the O-ring between the material to be welded and the restraining flange, and by evacuating the air from the space between the restraining flange and the material to be welded with the vacuum pump, at welding or brazing the thin sheet.
CONSTITUTION: An evacuating hole 2 is bored in the center of the restraining flange 1, and an O-ring 4 is fitted into the groove 3 in one plane, and the material 5 to be welded and the heat insulator 6 are set; the space 9 between the restraining flange 1 and the material 5 to be welded is gradually evacuated by the vacuum pump 8 through the piping 7; hereby, the material 5 to be welded is tightly contacted with the restraining flange 1, and the deformation to be caused by the brazing work 11 of the pipe 10 is restrained. The workability of the welding and brazing work is improved bacause of the absence of the push plate, and the deformation peculiar to the thin sheet can be prevented.
