Abstract
PURPOSE: To shorten the term required for assembling a condenser considerably, by assembling a condenser at a place near a building in which a foundation for mounting a steam turbine is constructed, simultaneously with construction of the building for housing the steam turbine, and then installing the assembled condenser at a required plate by transporting the same into the building.
CONSTITUTION: In assembling a condenser used in a large power plant having a steam turbine, an assembling pit 20 having a bottom at the same level as that of a condenser pit in which the condenser 25 is to be installed is at first constructed at a place near a building in which a steam turbine is installed. Then, block members 12 for constituting the lower body 11 of the condenser 25, transported by suitable means, are suspended by a crane 10 for assembling and constructing the lower body 11. Construction of the condenser 25 is completed by assembling an upper body 9 and a feed water heater 17 in the same way. Subsequently, after construction of the building carried out simultaneously with assembling of the condenser 25 is completed substantially, the assembled condenser 25 is suspended by a jack and placed on a slide plate, and it is installed correctly at a required place by sliding the same on rails 29 to the foundation 28 on which the condenser 25 is to be installed.
