Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase an amount of preparation of accumulation of an antibiotic simply and readily, by adding an agnet for lowering the concentration of nitrogen in the form of ammonium to a medium.
CONSTITUTION: An agent for lowering the concentration of nitrogen in the form of ammonium is added to a midium for preparing and accumulating an antibiotic by cultivating a bacterium having an antibiotic-producting power conventionally. The agent for lowering the concentration of nitrogen in the form of ammonium is a substance which adsorb, covers, or bonds nitrogen in the form of ammonium physically or chemically to reduce its concentration, when the substance and nitrogen in the form of ammonium are present in a culture solution. Phosphates of variuous kinds of metals, e.g., Mg(PO4)2, Ca(H2PO4)2, FeHPO4, etc., metallic oxides, e.g., MoO3, VO3, NaVO4, etc., uric acid, sodium urate, etc. can be used as the substance. A concentration of the agent for lowering the concentration of nitrogen in the form of ammomium in the medium is usually preferably 0.2W5wt%.
