Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce vibrations taking place when the engine controlled in the number of cylinders is mounted, by feeding a torque of rotation to a crank shaft with a short period the same as that on operations of all cylinders, even on operations of the partial cylinders.
CONSTITUTION: The second shut-off valve 14 is inserted in an operating exhaust passage 5 located at the downstream of an opening part A of an exhaust gas recirculating passage 6, at the upstream of the confluence B with a suspending exhaust passage 13 connected to cylinders 1W3 which are branched off the passage 5.
