PURPOSE:To improve the cooling effect of a rotary electric machine by forming vent holes at the axial end face of the rotor spoke and the boss cylindrical surface and forming a radial partition plate in the boss cylinder, thereby increasing the fan action of the rotor spoke. CONSTITUTION:In a rotor in which annular rim 3 is disposed on the outer periphery of the rotor spoke 2 and salient poles 4 are mounted on the outer periphery, vent holes 9 are formed at the axial end 2a of the rotor spoke 2, and a number of vent holes 10 are also formed on the cylindrical surface 2b of the rotor spoke. Further, radial partition plate 11 is provided in the boss cylinder 2b. Thus, the interior of the boss cylinder 2b becomes an air flow passage, and the air flow resistance to the rim duct 5 is decreased, thereby increasing the fan action of the rotor spoke 2. Thus, the sufficient air flow amount can be fed to the rim duct 5.
