Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable measurement of the position of a level of liquid or an interface of either of insulating or electroconductive liquid, with discrimination between them, by detecting the level of fluid based on the output of a temperature sensing part sensing the temperature of the fluid and, on said occasion, by measuring the level of the liquid with the reference to the output of an electrode part reacting to the electric resistance.
CONSTITUTION: The temperature sensing part 4 is composed of a contacting part 6, a heater 7, a power source 8 and a temperature sensor 9. When the level of the fluid reaches the contacting part 6, the temperature of the contacting part heated by the heater 7 lowers and by the change of the output of the sensor 9 the level of the fluid can be detected. In the electrode part 5, when the electroconductive fluid passes through a flow channel 1 and reaches the electrode 11, an electric current flows through a resistance 12 and the level of the liquid can be detected by the voltage V. In a civil engineering work by the shielding method and the like, for instance, whether resin mortar reaches a prescribed position (contacting part 6) or not can be detected. By this constitution, the position of the level of liquid or the interface of either of the electroconductive fluid or the insulating fluid, with discrimination between them, can be measured.
