Abstract

PURPOSE: To secure an easy detection of the defect or breakdown regardless of the shape of the subject to be tested by flowing the current to the tested subject and then measuring the temperature distribution caused by the heat generation.
CONSTITUTION: Electrodes 7 are mounted detachably across the test range of tested subject 3, and the fixed current is suppied from power source 8. Thus the heat is generated due to the electric resistance of the subject itself, and the temperature distribution is measured via the heat-sensitive material. The disturbance occurs in the temperature distribution at the defective area of subject 3 owing to the disturbance of heat generation and the uneven heat conduction, thus detecting the presence of absence of the defect in an accurate way.
