Abstract
PURPOSE:To restrain the corrosion of Al and its alloy in an aqueous solution with an easy handling, not to cause the trouble of environmental pollution, by incorporating V compound in the aqueous solution as an effective component. CONSTITUTION:V compound such as vanadate is added to a neutral water, aqueous solution of inorganic acid, alkaline aqueous solution, aqueous solution of salts or aqueous solution of organic acid and is used. Thereupon, corrosion of Al or Al alloy in the water or aqueous solution can be restrained. Moreover, troubles of environmental pollution etc. are not caused, as the toxicity of said V compound is comparatively low and also, its handling is easy. Vanadate is the most preferred among V compounds but vanadium oxide and vanadyl salt are also effective.
