Abstract

PURPOSE: To form rust-preventive coating having very good rust-preventive performance, by preparing a mixed aqueous soln. contg. a pyrazole derivative and aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, and by painting the soln. on the surface of metal.
CONSTITUTION: An aqueous soln. of one or more members among pyrazole derivatives shown by formula (e.g. 3,5-dimethyl purazole) is mixed with an aqueous soln. of aliphatic dicarboxylic acid (e.g. suberic acid). Said mixed aqueous soln. is neutralized with aqueous ammonia to 7W9pH, and is painted on the surface of metal to form rust-preventive coating. Said mixed aqueous soln. may contain an aqueous polymeric compound or surfactant, in addition a soln. made by adding said mixed aqueous soln. to an emulsion i.e. a mixture of cutting oil etc. with water may be used. The rust-preventive coating hereby obtd. exhibits excellent rust-preventive performance in water, air, and in high temp. and high humidity atmosphere as well.
