Abstract

PURPOSE: To maintain an in-furnace atmosphere at high purity by providing an atmospheric air shielding outlet sloped path to the outlet end of a heating furnace for sintering of Al powder metallurgical parts, and providing an outlet shutter which opens and closes in response to the passage of the treating objects in said sloped path.
CONSTITUTION: Al powder metallurgical parts 1 are passed through the inside of a dewaxing part 3, a sintering part 4, and a cooling part 5 by means of conveyors 20, 21, whereby they are sintered. In this case, N2, H2 and cracking NH3 gas are admitted through atmosphere gas lead-in ports 13, 14, and the parts are heated by Ni-Cr wire heating coils 8, 9, and are thereby subjected to dewaxing and sintering, then they are cooled in the cooling part 5 provided with a water cooling jacket 10, after which they are taken out. An atmospheric air shielding sloped path 31 and an outlet shutter 32 are mounted to the outlet end of the heating furnace. An atmosphere gas lead-in pipe 34 is connected to the sloped path 31 as well and limit switches 35, 36 are operated by the sintered products 1 slipping down on the sloped path 31, whereby the atmosphere gases are admitted; at the same time, the outlet shutter 32 is opened and the products are taken out. In this way, the entry of the atmospheric air into the furnace is prevented and sintering action is accomplished perfectly.
