Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the characteristics of dental amalgam of Ag-Sn-Cu by mixing an alloy contained with In to prevent sulfurization of Ag and an alloy added with Sn to delay the curing time of an Ag-Cu eutectic alloy at specific ratios thereby forming the raw material alloy for said amalgam.
CONSTITUTION: As the dental amalgam alloy, a mixture of the particles of ≤44μ made by spraying the molten alloy comprising 60W72% Ag, 20W30% Sn, 1W9% Cu, 2W10% In and <0.5% Zn and the alloy particles comprising 66W72% Ag, 23W32% Cu and 1W10% Sn at ratios of 55W15% is used. Since the former alloy contains In, sulfurization blackening of Ag does not occur, and since the latter alloy permits controlling the curing time of an Ag-Cu eutectic alloy by controlling an Sn content, the alloy powder for dental amalgam which permits easy filling operation to teeth and has superior physical properties is obtained.
