Abstract
PURPOSE:To efficiently produce a monitoring light from a laser diode by providing a direction switching transmission line for producing an outgoing beam from the diode rectangularly and disposing a photoreceptor thereafter to monitor the light output partly. CONSTITUTION:A light beam irradiated from a light emitting unit 2 is converged through condensing lenses 3 into an optical fiber circumferential portion, reflected on the end face of the optical fiber 7 cut obliquely at the end, and transmitted axially of the optical fiber. The light output not incident to the optical fiber 7 is detected by a photoreceptor 5 disposed thereafter to obtain a monitoring light.
