Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify the mounting work of a grid and accurately position each grid and cathode for each pattern display section by fixing a column select grid and a row select grid on the upper and lower surfaces of a frame body consisting of electrical insulating materials. CONSTITUTION:A pattern display section 2 is formed using an anode 3 on which fluorescent substances are coated and which are arranged in matrices. Characters are displayed by selectively bombarding the electrons from a filament type cathode 8 on the anode 3 by a column select grid 7 and a row select grid 6. Then a frame body 11 consisting of ceramic is premounted. The row select grid 6 and the column select grid 7 are waxed on the lower surface and on the upper surface, respectively. The retaining fixture of the filament cathode 8 is mounted on the end of the frame body 11 and fixed. Consequently, each grid and cathode can accurately be positioned for each pattern display section, high quality display can be obtained.
