Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce titled powder of desired characteristics through low-temp. sintering by forming an active high-m.p. metal oxide layer in the form of fur on the surface of high-m.p. metal powder then uniformly dispersing and adhering fine particles of additive metals on said oxide layer.
CONSTITUTION: High-m.p. metal powder is put into an inorganic acid and is stirred after which it is dried by heating to coat the surface of the metal powder with furlike oxide. An aqueous soln. of at least one kind of metal salts such as, for example, Ni salt, is added to this powder and is mixed under good stirring. Next, this soln. is dried by heating, to allow the metal salts to uniformly disperse and adhere to said oxide layer. Thence, this powder is heated in a reducing atmosphere to allow the active fine particles of the high-m.p. metals and the fine metal particles formed by the metal salts to uniformly disperse and adhere on the surfaces of the high-m.p. metal powder.
