Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy in position detection of the rotor on the subject brushless DC motor by sharply improving the magnetic flux which acts on a Hall element using a method wherein a method a magnetic substance piece is placed between the stator substrate and the Hall element of the above motor. CONSTITUTION:Two flat type coils 7a and 7b are provided on the stator substrate 2 through a medium of insulating sheets 8a and 8b (not shown in the diagram) and the Hall elements 9a and 9b are provided through a medium of magnetic substance pieces 10a and 10b. These magnetic substance pieces are used for increasing the magnetic flux which acts on the Hall elements 9a and 9b by concentrating at these magnetic substance pieces the magnetic flux coming from a disc-shaped magnet 13, the size of which is to be almost same as the Hall elements 9a and 9b and the thickness is to be made in such way that the surface of the flat coils 7a and 7b and the Hall elements 9a and 9b will be made level. Also, a groove 22 is formed on each neutral zone between the poles of the disc-shaped magnet 13 and an increase of an effective magnetic flux can be accomplished by placing a magnetic substance disc 23 on the reverse side of the groove 22.
